Ruinart Rose 750mL

Brand: Ruinart
Category: Champagne

Ruinart Rosé is a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay rosé from the Reims house best known for Chardonnay. It is round and fruity with enough freshness to carry it from aperitif to the table.

About This Champagne

The blend is 45% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, and 55% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne. Most of the Pinot is pressed and fermented as white wine; a portion equal to 12% of the whole is made as red wine and blended in for colour and red-fruit depth. Between 40 and 50 crus are used, including 20 to 30% reserve wines, and the wine rests two to three years in the chalk cellars. Dosage is 8 g/L and ABV 12.5%. Its coral-pink colour shows best in a clear glass.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Pomegranate, lychee, guava and fresh red berries, with a note of rose and a pinch of nutmeg.
  • Palate: Round and fruity, cherry and wild berries balanced by fresh acidity.
  • Finish: Lively and persistent, with a light spicy tail.

Serving & Food

Serve at around 8°C in tulip glasses. The house pairs it with oily fish and shellfish, and it holds up to charcuterie and duck. At a Hong Kong table, try Hainanese chicken rice or roast duck with plum sauce. Best within two years of purchase.

How to Enjoy

Dinner parties that move from aperitif into a meat course without changing bottle.

About the Maison

Ruinart was set up in Reims in 1729 and still works from the city today. Its defining trait is loyalty to Chardonnay: the grape appears in every cuvée, the rosé included, which is unusual in a region where pink Champagne usually leans on Pinot Noir. The non-vintage wines draw on dozens of crus, which lets the team hold a consistent style through good and difficult harvests alike. Frédéric Dufour has been president since 2011, working first with cellar master Frédéric Panaïotis and, from 2026, with Caroline Fiot.
