Promontory 2016 is a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend from the Harlan family estate in the eastern foothills of Oakville, made entirely from estate fruit. The 2016 California vintage was a long, even year that produced structured Cabernet with depth. The wine is aged in large Austrian Stockinger oak casks for thirty to thirty-six months, then held back in bottle for further ageing before going to market.

About the Winery
Promontory is a Napa Valley estate in the eastern foothills of Oakville, established by the Harlan family of Harlan Estate in 2008, with the first vintage from 2009 released in 2015. The estate stretches across around 840 acres on steep, fault-line terrain combining volcanic, sedimentary and metamorphic soils, with the wine sourced from around 32 hectares of vines aged between seven and fifty years. Winemaker David Cilli has led the cellar since 2012, with Will Harlan directing the estate since 2015. The wine is aged thirty to thirty-six months in large Austrian Stockinger oak casks, a deliberately unusual approach for Napa, and is not released until five and a half years after harvest.
