Olivier Bernstein Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2019 is a Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most sought-after sites. The 2019 vintage and grand cru provenance place it squarely in collector territory, with depth, structure and cellar potential central to the bottle’s appeal.
From the Producer
Olivier Bernstein founded his Beaune-based micro-négociant in 2007, after studying viticulture and oenology and working in international management, drawing inspiration from time spent with the late Burgundy winemaker Henri Jayer. He buys grapes exclusively from premier and grand cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, and in 2012 purchased his first owned parcels, in Mazis-Chambertin and Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Champeaux. His wines are made with gentle extraction and precise barrel ageing, and his early vintages drew acclaim from critics including Jancis Robinson and Allen Meadows.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Black cherry, raspberry, rose, spice, mineral notes and subtle smoky oak.
- Palate: Concentrated yet refined, with dark berry fruit, sappy depth, fine tannins and grand cru length.
- Finish: Long and resonant, with floral spice, mineral grip and polished oak.
Best For
Grand Cru Burgundy collectors, Gevrey-focused cellars and fine dining pairings where depth and pedigree matter more than immediate-drinking value.
