Jacques Selosse is a Récoltant-Manipulant grower domaine based in Avize in the Côte des Blancs, founded by Jacques Selosse and taken over by his son Anselme Selosse in 1980. Anselme is widely credited with redefining oxidative, terroir-led grower Champagne, with fermentation and aging in used barriques, very low sulfur use, and an emphasis on single-vineyard, vintage-dated wines over the dosage targets of the larger houses. Les Carelles is one of the domaine's lieu-dit bottlings, from the Les Carelles parcel on the Côte des Blancs slope, and vinified and aged in barrel to express that specific site's chalk and exposure.
