Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) is the most storied wine estate in Burgundy, founded in 1869 and today run by co-directors Bertrand de Villaine and Perrine Fenal. The domaine is centred on the Romanée-Conti vineyard in Vosne-Romanée and works a portfolio of seven Grand Cru monopoles and one single-vineyard Côte de Beaune holding: Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux, Montrachet and, since 2018, Corton. La Tâche is a 6.06-hectare Grand Cru monopole immediately south of Romanée-Conti, planted almost entirely to Pinot Noir and bottled at the domaine as a single-climat wine; its name has been attached to DRC since the purchase of the vineyard by Jules Duvault-Blochet in 1933. The 2016 vintage in Burgundy produced generous, ageworthy wines across the Côte de Nuits, and the DRC La Tâche 2016 is offered by the domaine only via its established allocation system.
