About This Champagne
This is the standard 2008 rosé, dressed in Lady Gaga's pink and silver packaging. About 21% of the blend is red Pinot from Chants de Linottes in Hautvillers and Vauzelles in Aÿ. The 2008 vintage gave a finer, more linear rosé than the vinous 2006, and critics were enthusiastic: William Kelley at The Wine Advocate gave 97.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Blood orange, peach and red cherry, with toast, smoke and a salty, iodine note.
- Palate: Concentrated and textural, with lively acidity and a soft, very fine mousse.
- Finish: Long and driving, with orange peel and fine spice.
Serving & Food
Serve at about 10°C in a white-wine glass. Drinking now, with a long future. It suits prawn toast, tuna tartare with yuzu, or roast quail with cherries.

About the Maison
Making a Dom Pérignon rosé is a balancing act. The house starts with the same Pinot Noir and Chardonnay approach as the white, then adds Pinot Noir from the ripest, best-exposed parcels, vinified as red wine. The aim is to bring in colour, depth and a darker fruit character without losing the tension that defines the white. It is a riskier wine, and it needs longer in the cellar. The rosé usually rests on its lees for several years more than the Blanc before release.
