Category: Champagne

Dom Pérignon Rosé 2006 in the Lady Gaga Limited Edition dress, launched in 2021 as the first chapter of the house's partnership with the singer. The wine inside is the regular 2006 rosé, a rich and spicy vintage.

About This Champagne

The 2006 season swung between extremes: a very hot July, a cool, damp August and a burst of heat in September that brought the grapes home. The resulting rosé is full, ripe and more vinous than the lighter 2008. The Lady Gaga edition was announced in April 2021 alongside the Queendom campaign film by Nick Knight, and went on sale from 1 October 2021 with a special label and iridescent finish.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Dark spice and cocoa, then roasted fig, apricot and candied orange, all wrapped in smoke.
  • Palate: Full and succulent, with a silky feel that tightens into a fine-grained structure, and a pleasant salty edge.
  • Finish: Long, with spice, a slightly briny note and dried fruit.

Serving & Food

Serve it cool rather than cold, around 11°C, in a tulip or white Burgundy glass. It is drinking well and will keep for another decade. Pair with char siu, grilled lamb cutlets with cumin, or aged Parmigiano.

How to Enjoy

Fans of the collaboration who also want a serious, full-bodied rosé in the bottle.

About the Maison

Rosé came late to Dom Pérignon. The first vintage was 1959, and those bottles were never sold. In 1971 they were poured at Persepolis for the celebrations of 2,500 years of the Persian Empire, which gave the rosé a grand debut. Since then it has been made only in chosen years, and in 1986 the house made a rosé without a white alongside it. The recipe relies on ripe Pinot Noir from top villages, part of it vinified as still red wine and blended in before the second fermentation.
