Dom Pérignon 2004 is a prestige vintage Champagne from a year the house positions as balanced and classically structured, making it a natural fit for buyers who want mature-vintage interest without moving into the later-release P2/P3 range.
From the Producer
Dom Pérignon is the prestige vintage Champagne of Moët & Chandon, named after the Benedictine monk Dom Pierre Pérignon and produced only in years the Chef de Cave declares worthy of vintage status. The 2004 vintage was released on 14 May 2013, with the harvest beginning on 24 September after a notably even growing season that the house describes as the last classic vintage before more erratic years, with grapes showing excellent ripeness and health. It is blended from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (around 53% Pinot Noir in the house's stated ratio for this release) and is cellar-aged for at least seven years on lees before release, the standard Dom Pérignon maturation period.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Citrus, white flowers, stone fruit, brioche and gentle toasted spice.
- Palate: Layered and poised, with creamy mousse, orchard fruit, chalky freshness and the composed, precise shape associated with classic Dom Pérignon vintages.
- Finish: Long and mineral, carrying citrus, toast and quiet savoury depth.
Best For
Prestige Champagne gifting, celebratory dinners and collectors looking for a straight vintage Dom Pérignon rather than a presentation-led variant.
