Dal Forno Romano Valpolicella 2006 is the Valpolicella bottling from Romano Dal Forno in the Val d’Illasi, made in the concentrated appassimento style the estate pioneered alongside its Amarone. It is denser and more cellar-worthy than classic Valpolicella, and a different expression from the estate’s Amarone della Valpolicella.
From the Producer
Dal Forno Romano is a family estate in Cellore d’Illasi founded by Romano Dal Forno in the 1980s, farming roughly 53 hectares and drying grapes on bamboo racks before a long, low-temperature fermentation. Grapes for Valpolicella are still partly dried to lift concentration, then aged in new French oak barriques alongside the Amarone (dalforno.it / dalfornoromano.it).
