Coche Dury Volnay Premier Cru 2014 750mL (Red Capsule)

Coche Dury Volnay Premier Cru 2014 750mL (Red Capsule) is a red Burgundy from Domaine Coche-Dury, drawn from a Volnay Premier Cru climat in the Côte de Beaune, bottled in the standard 750mL format with the red capsule variation associated with the domaine's release.

From the Producer

Domaine Coche-Dury is a family wine estate based in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune, established in the 1920s by Léon Coche. The estate passed to Georges Coche in 1964, then to Jean-François Coche in 1973, with the "Dury" added from his wife's surname. Raphaël Coche, Jean-François's son, joined full-time in 1999 and took over the winemaking role in 2010. While the domaine is best known for its white wines from Meursault and Corton-Charlemagne, it also produces small quantities of Pinot Noir from Volnay premier cru parcels, sold in tiny allocations on release. The 2014 vintage in the Côte de Beaune produced classically proportioned red Burgundies with restrained extraction and a structured tannin profile.

Tasting Profile

Red wines from Domaine Coche-Dury in Volnay characteristically show Pinot Noir's red-fruit profile — red cherry and raspberry — combined with savoury spice, fine-grained tannin and a sustained finish. The 2014 vintage across the Côte de Beaune was considered a classical, age-worthy year, and Coche-Dury's 2014 Volnays are reviewed as tightly structured wines that benefit from bottle ageing.

Best For

Fine-wine collectors, red Burgundy followers, and commemorative gifting. Pairs naturally with red-meat dishes, game, aged cheeses or contemplative cellaring.
