"A new offering, the 2000 Termanthia is a 3,800-bottle cuvee made from ungrafted vines planted in the second half of the 19th century. Yields were .5 tons of fruit per acre. A magnificent effort, it possesses huge body, an inky/purple color, and a gorgeous nose of creosote, creme de cassis, licorice, and vanilla. Extremely large and unctuously-textured, with chocolate and espresso notes evident in the flavors, this extraordinary effort shows what the new frontier of wine quality, in this case Spain's Toro district, can produce when a conscientious, no compromising producer sets out to do something world-class. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 15+ years."
